About the Author

Carper Smith grew up outside a small farming town in northern California. As a child, she played trumpet and piano, participated in sports, sang in her church’s youth choir, raised pigs for 4-H, and discovered she loved ballet and writing stories more than all the other things she tried.

Through her teen years, ballet and writing competed for her attention, but writing eventually won. She graduated from college with a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing, moved to New Mexico and promptly found a job working as a secretary. Later she became a language arts teacher then a physical education teacher. Throughout it all, she kept writing and nursing her dream of becoming a published author.

Carper has lived in Northern and Southern California, New Mexico, Oregon, Missouri, and Florida in a string of houses and apartments which always seem to find their way into her novels. She is currently living in Northern California with her cat, Gracie (the Wonder Muse).
